“This handy boxed game is a useful tool to reinforce the learning of times tables, especially helpful for those who experience difficulties in this area, such as children with dyslexia. Initially the question (?) and answer (=) cards should be matched and checked against a key card. Then it becomes a game of pelmanism.

When I tried it out with pupils, the superior visuo-spatial skills (which many dyslexic children show) soon came into play, giving the children a distinct advantage as they could recall where individual cards were to be found once they had appeared. The boost to confidence and self-esteem caused by winning decisively is one of the factors in favour of this game. The other is that the set of answers for each multiplication table became familiar after a time.“
